I didn't put a bumper in my son's crib because of the recommendation regarding SIDS. But at 7 months he started rolling around so much in his sleep and would jam his head up against the sides of the crib and sometimes wake himself up. Since SIDS is less of a risk at this point I decided to give this a try. He loves it. He seems to like feeling enclosed more--judging by the fact that he now curls up in a corner of the crib no matter where I set him down. I know I won't get a ton of use out of this as he'll be standing on his own soon--so the recommendation at that point is to remove the bumper so they don't stand on it. But I'm still glad I purchased it. I have actually seen him on his crib camera running his hands over the super soft bumps on the inside of the bumper. So cute! Sizing was fine for me. I do wish the ties were longer. Since they are on the outside of the crib it just doesn't hurt to make them longer, so they are easier to tie.

My son is almost 8 months old, and when he started pushing his arms and legs out the crib slats every night and waking himself up, it was time for a bumper. This one is by far the best bumper we have owned (Child #3, with multiple bedding sets, we have seen a bunch of bumpers) It fits the crib perfectly, with no slack or spaces. Its very soft, so it won't bother the baby at all. It stays put as well, doesn't slide up and down on the rails.

My first grandchild visited last month for the first time. He was 5 months old and of course I wanted everything perfect for him. I happened to have the crib I was raised in and it is a wonderful antique that is made of cast iron. Our main concern was the baby did not bump his head against the side/end rails. This bumper pad is soft, cushioned and ties to the rails so it will stay in place and you can adjust it up or down if you want. I had never heard of the color ecru but it is great because I painted the crib a cream color and it matches perfectly. Best of all, my son and daughter-in-law liked it also! I would recommend this bumper pad highly.....and believe me, I looked at a ton of them before I bought this Carters Super Soft Bumper Pad.
